We didn\u2019t see that one coming.<\/p>\n<p>At the conclusion to Thursday night\u2019s episode, we learned that Candice King\u2019s character was set to be the interim headmistresses after Alaric\u2019s departure. This meant that she\u2019d be back, connected, to this world that she was gone from for so many years. Of course, getting the actress back was no easy feat, and it took a pretty simple pitch to get her on board. Here\u2019s is what executive producer Julie Plec had to say on the subject to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/tvline.com\/2022\/06\/16\/legacies-series-finale-klaus-caroline-cameos-explained-interview\/\">TVLine<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201cAs a friend, I wanted Candice to come when she was ready. [Showrunner Brett Matthews] called her and said, \u2018We don\u2019t know for sure, but this could be the end, and here\u2019s this thing we want to do with you.\u2019 And she said, \u2018Sign me up.\u2019 It was that easy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Plec noted that there would have been conversations with King about whether or not she\u2019d be open to more, but that was provided that a season 5 h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened. As it stands, this was a delightful Easter egg that really honors the entire legacy of the show, and it was also so meaningful because Caroline has so many connections to these characters and this world.
