The study surveyed over 300 CPO participants from a variety of industries and company sizes.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_How_do_CPOs_think_about_their_role_and_whats_their_function\"><\/span>1. They already have a solid, established culture and products that are built for digital.<\/p>\n<p>CPOs in traditional industries \u2014 such as legacy banking, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>, and manufacturing \u2014 are leading their companies\u2019 digital transformation. For them, it\u2019s less about the product, and much more about cultural transformation, Niemi explained.<\/p>\n<p>As she elaborated:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>When you look at the skills required, in the case of a digital native CPO, they\u2019re all about growth and people. And when it comes to digital transformation, it\u2019s really all about being able to transform a company with a very, very strong vision.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_What_makes_a_CPO_successful\"><\/span>2. What makes a CPO successful?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In terms of product metrics, the focus is on the customer journey. This means, success is measured in user engagement, customer h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>iness, and product adoption.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to business metrics, CPOs are thinking about revenue, time to revenue, and upsell rate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, what distinguishes a successful CPO is really in the soft skills,\u201d Niemi noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the most successful CPOs have a seat at the c-suite table, they have a very strong vision, and they\u2019re very good at communicating that vision. They know what to build, and they build it right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Based on the study\u2019s results, Niemi not only highlights the current emerging number of CPOs, but also those that\u2019ll soon become an integral part of every company.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Right now about 15% of Fortune 5,000 companies currently have a CPO as part of their C-suite.<\/p>\n<p>The best businesses tend to be 2.3 times more likely to involve product in their large vision decisions.<\/p>\n<p>Our prediction is that in five years 70% of the Fortune 5,000 will be product-led.
