However, unlike the mysteries tied to Bitcoin\u2019s origin, the development of the Bitcoin \u2018\u20bf\u2019 logo is fairly documented in the depths of the internet.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When Bitcoin was introduced 13 years ago by creator Satoshi Nakamoto, the first iteration of the Bitcoin logo represented a gold coin with a \u201cBC\u201d text embedded in the center, as shown below.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2022-06\/6fde082d-c08a-4540-af9a-6d8448ea2cd8.png\"><\/figure>\n<p>However, on February 24, 2010, Nakamoto came up with a new Bitcoin logo, which saw the replacement of the \u201cBC\u201d text with \u201c\u20bf\u201d embedded within the gold coin.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2022-06\/72e2c057-b2b0-4d92-b4cf-2adbea0d851c.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\">Satoshi Nakamoto&#8217;s second attempt on Bitcoin logo. Source:\u00a0bitcointalk.org<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Based on community feedback, Satoshi then incorporated changes into the new logo and released the copyright-free images into the public domain. The logo then went on to be accepted as the official logo for Bitcoin for a short amount of time.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2022-06\/8275c0f7-0d00-4cc2-881c-167aaf551e78.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Satoshi Nakamoto incorporates design changes based on community feedback. Source: bitcointalk.org<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The decentralized nature of the Bitcoin ecosystem allows the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> public to contribute to the Bitcoin network in various forms based on community consensus, including logo designs. On November 1, 2010, Bitcoin community member <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20130524001327\/https:\/\/bitcointalk.org\/index.php?action=profile;u=2062\">bitboy<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20130525203057\/https:\/\/bitcointalk.org\/index.php?topic=1631.0;all\">released<\/a> a new iteration of the Bitcoin logo based on Satoshi\u2019s design. However, this time the designer chose to replace the gold coin with the iconic orange circle and tiled the \u201c\u20bf\u201d logo 14% clockwise.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2022-06\/a887f1ef-f200-4049-873c-e5b5cb1bf199.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>bitboy&#8217;s design a.k.a. official Bitcoin logo. Source: bitcointalk.org<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As a result of overwhelming support from the community, bitboy\u2019s design stands as the official logo for Bitcoin over the last 12 years.
