Rune Labs, the company behind this app, hopes that it will accelerate Parkinson\u2019s research and improve the lives of patients.<\/p>\n<p>As defined by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nia.nih.gov\/health\/parkinsons-disease\">the NIA,<\/a>\u00a0Parkinson\u2019s is a brain disorder that causes unintentional or uncontrollable body movements. Tremors, loss of balance, stiffness, and difficulty speaking are hallmarks of Parkinson\u2019s. And while there\u2019s no cure for the illness, proactive treatment can slow or alleviate some symptoms.<\/p>\n<p>StrivePD should, in theory, remove some of the guesswork from Parkinson\u2019s care. Doctors and patients can use the app to track how symptoms grow, change, or improve over time. And such detailed data could make care decisions (such as medication) more effective.<\/p>\n<p>But the app isn\u2019t just for collecting tremor data. Patients can use it to log their mood, for example, which may give them insight into their mental health (about 50% of people with Parkinson\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/my.clevelandclinic.org\/health\/diseases\/9379-depression-overview-and-its-role-in-parkinsons-disease\">suffer from depression<\/a>). The app can also remind patients to complete daily tasks, take their medication, or reflect on their goals.<\/p>\n<p>StrivePD is currently open <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.strive.group\">with a waitlist<\/a>.
