Bitcoin<br \/>\n        BTCUSD,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/31322028\/realtime\" class=\"negative\">-0.24%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       surged about 16% in the past 24 hours, as of 5 p.m. Sunday, to $20,598, making up for much of its Saturday losses, when it slid as low as $17,630, according to Coinbase data.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       Ethereum<br \/>\n        ETHUSD,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/108573964\/realtime\" class=\"negative\">-2.38%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       prices surged as well Sunday, jumping 26% to $1,137 as of 5 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Cryptocurrencies trade 24 hours a day, and often fluctuate wildly on weekends, when financial markets are closed. A number of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cameron\/status\/1538205427070017536\" class=\"icon none\">crypto bulls<\/a> have called the recent plunge in crypto values a prime buying opportunity, while critics warn the fundamentals have not changed and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PeterSchiff\/status\/1536718741987373063\" class=\"icon none\">it could slump further<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong> Bitcoin skids under $20,000 in Minsky Moment for crypto: \u2018Psychologically for a lot of people, this is galling\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Vinny Langham, chief executive of livestreaming platform Waitroom, tweeted Sunday: \u201cThis could signify the bottom, if it retakes\/holds $20k quickly by Tue\/Wed.
