What a week. I had the best time. I\u2019m so thankful for the fans of New England and Boston. I\u2019m proud of the way I played. He called the week \u201ca good experience,\u2019\u2019 adding, \u201cI think I handled it really well. I played good. I\u2019ll definitely take a lot from this week. I\u2019m not overly pleased with how the weekend went, because I feel like I\u2019m hitting it pretty damned good right now.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>He was 3-under par on the front nine Sunday with birdies on Nos. 2, 4 and 8, before faltering with a five-bogey 39 on the back nine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had a good day and I kind of finished poorly \u2026 some bad bogeys coming in with two three-putts,\u2019\u2019 he said. \u201cI got \u2018U.S. Opened\u2019 a couple times. It\u2019s going to happen. I\u2019d have liked for it not to have happened.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Next for Gotterup is the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Travel<\/a>ers Championship this week at TPC River Highlands, where he has a sponsor\u2019s exemption, and then John Deere next month on another sponsor\u2019s exemption. If he finishes in the top-7 among players who aren\u2019t already qualified for the British Open, he can qualify for St. Andrews.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>His overall take from his first career major championship?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI definitely grew,\u2019\u2019 Gotterup said. \u201cI didn\u2019t make this week any bigger than what it was. I played terrible in Canada (a missed cut last week), so to come out here this week and hit the ball solid was a big step in the right direction.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n<p>Travis Vick, a 22-year-old from the University of Texas, was the low amateur among the four in the field who made the cut, finishing 8-over par and in a tie for 43rd after shooting 73 on Sunday. Then to top it off with low-am, it\u2019s hard to put into words how awesome that is.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Vick, who just finished helping lead Texas to the NCAA title, said, \u201cIt\u2019s kind of been like a golfer\u2019s high in a sense.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n<p>Before the lead groups teed off, 25-year-old Italian Guido Migliozzi was posting the second lowest score of the day with a 4-under-par 66. \u201cIt\u2019s been a great round of golf,\u2019\u2019 he said. \u201cI played very, very solid from tee to green, and it was a long time that I was playing like that. I had nothing to lose, and I just wanted to play great golf.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n<p>Grayson Murray, who\u2019s known more for his <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> tweaking of fellow golfer Kevin Na for his slow play, was not having a day in Sunday\u2019s U.S. Open final round.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Murray, who shot 80 Sunday and finished 18-over for the week and in 63rd place out of the 64 who made the cut, took his struggles out it out on his clubs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After taking quadruple bogey 8 on the seventh hole, Murray angrily tomahawk-tossed his putter into the long fescue grass. He\u2019d been even-par through the first six holes before making that mess on No. 7.
