Over the past week, the number of Bitcoin wallet addresses containing one BTC or more increased by 13,091. The total number of \u201cwholecoiners\u201d surged to 865,254.<\/p>\n<p>The number of whole coiners has rocketed during the downward price action, highlighted by the hockey stick growth on the Glassnode graph: <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2022-06\/c8beb4be-e4b3-451a-9b05-737c4791484b.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\">Since the 10th June the orange line has jumped. Source: Glassnode<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Christian Ander, the founder of the Swedish Bitcoin exchange BT.CX told Cointelegraph that &#8220;This is good for the ecosystem that it\u2019s growing from the ground up because want the economy to be bottom up.\u201d Ander continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cPeople have a strong belief in the future of the Bitcoin network and the value of the currency.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Over the past 10 days, since the May 10th market slump to $30,000, over 14,000 whole coiners have joined the network. As there will only ever be 21 million Bitcoin mined, these wallet addresses will own one twentyone millionth of all Bitcoin.<\/p>\n<p>At an <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roximate price of $20,000 per Bitcoin, the sharp increase in the number of whole coiners would suggest that retail\u2013or \u201cplebs\u201d as they are affectionately known\u2013are buying Bitcoin as fast as their incomes will allow. The number of addresses adding 0.1 BTC ($2,000) or more has also begun a parabolic run over the past 10 <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/studio.glassnode.com\/metrics?a=BTC&amp;category=Distribution&amp;m=addresses.MinPoint1Count&amp;s=1622607398&amp;u=1655683200&amp;zoom=\">days<\/a>. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2022-06\/a8953157-0c07-4934-83b0-08dc303269c1.png\"><\/figure>\n<p>In contrast, the number of wallets containing more than 100 BTC has dropped by\u00a0136 over the same period. By inference, &#8220;whale&#8221; wallets (large BTC wallet addresses) could be unloading their bags.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: El Salvador president addresses bear market concerns with Bitcoin hopium<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When Satoshi Nakamoto mined the first Bitcoin on 9th January, 2009, the Gini coefficient was 1, i.e income inequality on the network was the highest it has ever been. The Gini coefficient, developed by statistician Corrado Gini, represents income inequality or wealth inequality within a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a> group. In Bitcoin, it can be mapped onto wallet addresses.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As soon as Hal Finney, the first Bitcoin believer began mining and receiving Bitcoin, the gini coefficient dropped from 1.
