And it wasn\u2019t long after the acclaimed <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> took its final bow that star\u00a0<strong>Matthew Fox<\/strong> followed suit.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Party of Five<\/em> alum did a couple movies afterward, notably playing a shredded villain in\u00a0<em>Alex Cross<\/em> and an anti-hero cowboy in the underseen horror\/Western <em>Bone Tomahawk<\/em>. But after that? He walked away from the business.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, it\u2019s actually been over <em>seven years<\/em> since Fox stepped in front of the camera!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Mark Wahlberg Says He\u2019s About To Quit To Do THIS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s finally making his return in a new\u00a0show called <em>Last Light<\/em>, and in a press conference for the\u00a0<strong>Peacock<\/strong> series, he took a moment to explain his extended hiatus.\u00a0On why he chose the moment he did to stop acting, he explained it was starring in that Western that marked the occasion for him:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI kind of had a bucket list in my mind of things that I wanted to accomplish in the business, and after I did <em>Bone Tomahawk<\/em> in 2014, that had kind of completed the bucket list. I wanted to do a Western. It\u2019s a very odd Western, but it\u2019s a Western. And so that sort of completed the bucket list.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As for why he\u2019d already been thinking about retirement, he explained that was all about focusing on his family \u2014 before his kids got too old and he missed it all! He recalled:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAt that time in my life, our kids were at an age where I felt like I needed to really re-engage. I had been focused on work for some time, and [my wife] Margherita had been running the family so beautifully, but I felt like it was time to be home, and I really felt like I was retiring from the business, and working on other creative elements that are really personal to me \u2014 some music and writing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>So why come back? Well, it was all about the story of\u00a0<em>Last Light<\/em> that appealed to him:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019ve just spent seven years living my life with my family and pursuing things that I\u2019m passionate about, but storytelling is in my DNA in some way, and I felt like this form of storytelling was something that I wanted to reengage with, and see how it felt. And I\u2019m really happy that I did so \u2014 it\u2019s been good.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This time he\u2019s taking more ownership as an executive producer \u2014 something that he\u2019d added to his wish list:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI kind of got to a point where I thought that maybe the bucket list included executive producing. I\u2019d never done that before. The opportunity to be involved in <em>Last Light<\/em> came along, and so I wanted to give it a shot.
