Sun.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/commons.m.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/File:Skybender.gif\">The mind-blowing footage<\/a> shows a solar twister that\u2019s the equivalent of a burning hot 12,000-mile tall tornado.<\/p>\n<p>The stunning video was captured by astronomer\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.astrobin.com\/users\/Apollo_Lasky\/\">Apollo Lasky<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spaceweather.com\/\">SpaceWeather.com<\/a>, Lasky captured the solar twister on June 21.<\/p>\n<p>The ejection was said to be part of a \u201csolar storm system\u201d and was large enough to \u201cswallow Earth\u201d if we were closer.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, the eruption wasn\u2019t facing Earth.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, most of the plasma ejection fell back to the solar surface.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the solar material was hurled into space.<\/p>\n<p>Lasky was said to use a backyard solar telescope to capture the footage.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure Illinois and his\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.astrobin.com\/users\/Apollo_Lasky\/\">Astrobin<\/a>\u00a0profile states: \u201cI am famous for getting banned off of every astronomy forum because of my solar telescope.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSafety is my #1 priority and Nothing I do is Unsafe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The footage has been revealed as space weather experts are keeping a close eye on\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/tech\/18946079\/huge-sunspot-solar-flare-geomagentic-storm\/\">an \u201cenormous sunspot\u201d<\/a>\u00a0that\u2019s doubled in size recently.<\/p>\n<p>The unstable patch on the solar surface is directly facing\u00a0Earth\u00a0so if it bursts it could fling solar flares our way.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/tech\/18662187\/dangers-of-solar-flares-storm-radio-blackout-deadly-radiation\/\">solar flare<\/a>\u00a0isn\u2019t expected to hit yet but it could be possible if the sunspot continues to grow and behave in an unstable manner.<\/p>\n<p><em>This story originally <a
