The generated QR code will encode the page URL. It will be possible to read with a compatible device, e.g. with your phone&#8217;s camera, and share the URL between devices quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now you can do the same for images. There is a new entry to the image content menu. By clicking on it, you can instantly share the selected image via a QR code and transfer it to your phone or any other compatible device. The usage scenario is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The user navigates to a page with the &lt;img> tag.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The user performs a right-click on an image.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By selecting a special entry\u00a0from the context menu, the user gets a QR code for the image.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is already implemented in\u00a0Google Chrome\u00a0(Canary as of now). Similarly, Edge allows using it starting in\u00a0Edge Canary 86.0.607.0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"To_Share_Image_via_QR_Code_in_Microsoft_Edge\"><\/span>To Share Image via QR Code in Microsoft Edge,<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open Microsoft Edge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigate to a web page that contains the image that you want to share.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Right-click on that image and select\u00a0<em>Generate QR code for this image<\/em>\u00a0from the context menu.<br><br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"862\" height=\"695\" src=\"https:\/\/winaero.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Generate-QR-for-image-in-Microsoft-Edge.png\" alt=\"Generate QR For Image In Microsoft Edge\"><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A new dialog will open that shows a QR for the image address.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"959\" height=\"614\" src=\"https:\/\/winaero.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/QR-for-image-in-Microsoft-Edge.png\" alt=\"QR For Image In Microsoft Edge\"><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You are done. The dialog provides an option to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">download<\/a> the QR code as a PNG image. You can read the displayed image with your phone camera, and get the associated image opened in your browser on the phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you don&#8217;t see the option, you need to enable the QR code generator feature in Microsoft Edge. As of this writing, the flag is common for both URL and Image QR code option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"To_Enable_the_QR_Code_generator_in_Microsoft_Edge\"><\/span>To Enable the QR Code generator in Microsoft Edge,<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open Edge, and type the following text in the address bar:\u00a0<code>edge:\/\/flags\/#sharing-qr-code-generator<\/code>.This will open the flags page directly with the relevant setting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the option\u00a0<em>Enable<\/em>\u00a0from the drop-down list next to the &#8216;<em>Enable sharing page via QR Code<\/em>&#8216; line.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"425\" src=\"https:\/\/winaero.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Microsoft-Edge-Enable-QR-Code-Button.png\" alt=\"Microsoft Edge Enable QR Code Button\"><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restart Edge by closing it manually.
