Doing so will create a powerful fleet that encompasses ebikes, escooters, mopeds, adaptive vehicles, and Wheels\u2019 two-wheeled, sit-down device.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are a lot of reasons why I think this is an excellent partnership:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Targeting_an_underserved_portion_of_riders\"><\/span><strong>Targeting an underserved portion of riders\u00a0<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019ve been a big fan of Wheels for a while. This is significant, as <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">research finds<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that escooters are massively underutilized by women, with riders most style=\"font-weight: 400;\">wheelchairs<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, turning them from manual into motorized, capable of 12mph (19kmph).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also available is a three-wheeled sit-down adaptive scooter.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both are free to use.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having all of these options available could expand the micromobility user profile significantly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Expanding_accessibility_%E2%80%94_and_market_share\"><\/span><strong>Expanding accessibility \u2014\u00a0 and market share<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While I\u2019m not suggesting that every single mobility solution should cater to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">every <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">person (not everyone has a car or motorbike license, for example), anything that expands the micromobility user base can only be a good thing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both companies\u2019 accessible offerings could prove compelling to city officials, especially in cities overrepresented by an aging population who can no longer drive cars as they age.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even in large cities, accessible escooters would be a great way to augment last-mile transport solutions like on-demand carpooling like Berlin\u2019s <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.berlkoenig.de\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Berlk\u00f6nig<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Further, having more commercial product offerings like regular escooters and mopeds helps the company stay profitable. Helbiz is also expanding its products to include live streaming services, food delivery, financial services, and more, all accessible within its mobile <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s unclear how it will all fit together. Still, it\u2019s clearly taken a leaf out of the massively successful <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.grab.com\/sg\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grab<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> playbook in Asia, where the company provides a suite of services, including deliveries, mobility, and financial services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to \u200b\u200bHelbiz CEO and Founder Salvatore Palella:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From a strategic perspective, this acquisition is expected to double revenue, expand the cities served, enhance margins, and reduce costs.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently, both companies have a fairly small market footprint in the number of cities they deploy their micromobility in, with Helbiz largely concentrating on the US and Italy. This is a far smaller reach than contemporaries like <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tier.app\/en\/where-to-find-us\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tier<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.li.me\/locations\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lime<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wheels is available in 11 US cities, including Berlin in Germany, and via four US college campuses.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By joining forces, they\u2019ll be able to compete for tenders in large cities, especially with their extended choice of mobility solutions. And getting more people out of cars?
