Witness, too, the Supreme Court decision in which \u201cthe justices ruled 6-3 that Maine may not ban parents from spending education vouchers at schools . . . run by religious organizations.\u201d And \u201cthe fact that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is putting [parental rights] at the center of his gubernatorial reelection campaign\u201d with statements \u201caimed accurately at the corrupt heart of the left-wing educational establishment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crime watch: Bring Back This Proven Tactic<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cLaw enforcement officials . . . are rediscovering a tactic that history and research vindicate: precision prosecution,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.city-journal.org\/precision-prosecution-and-violent-crime\">writes Thomas Hogan at City Journal.<\/a> That means \u201carresting known violent criminals, especially gang members\u201d and \u201clock[ing] up criminals with multiple prior felony convictions.\u201d Why is this effective? Because \u201ca large proportion of violent crime in any city is generated by a relatively few criminals, locations, and times. If police and prosecutors focus on just 5 percent of the offenders and locations in a city, and beef up police presence during hot weekend nights, law enforcement can knock out a substantial proportion of violent crime.\u201d \u201cIn law enforcement, there are no new ideas \u2014 just good ideas that sometimes get forgotten.\u201d Like \u201cthese strategies,\u201d which \u201cworked before and can work again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fiscal expert: NY\u2019s Lagging Jobs Recovery<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In May, the US economy \u201cwould have\u201d hit \u201ca big milestone\u201d by topping the February 2020 pre-pandemic jobs level \u2014 \u201cif not for New York,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.empirecenter.org\/publications\/new-york-still-lagging-nations-employment-recovery\/?utm_source=Empire+Center+emails&amp;utm_campaign=af329b4153-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_11_14_04_16_COPY_01&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_6cc7720848-af329b4153-248939757\">notes the Empire Center\u2019s E.J. McMahon<\/a>. \u201cTotal private employment in the Empire State was still 399,200 jobs below the February 2020 mark,\u201d while the total for all other states, plus DC, was 165,000 above it. \u201cAmong the largest states, New York\u2019s jobs recovery,\u201d at 4.5% below 2020, \u201ccontinued to trail far behind pandemic rebound trends in Texas (+3.7 percent) and Florida (+3.2 percent), which imposed fewer and looser restrictions at the pandemic\u2019s peak.\u201d \u201cEven California, which imposed pandemic restrictions as severe as New York\u2019s, has come closer to full recovery.\u201d Similarly, when it comes to unemployment and labor force participation, New York also trails the nation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the right: Yes, Biden Can Tame Inflation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President Biden bemoans \u201chis inability to stem\u201d inflation, yet there\u2019s \u201cmuch he could do,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10942459\/Fed-chair-Powell-wants-Trump-economic-era-agree-ANDY-PUZDER-JIM-TALENT.html\">Andy Puzder and former Sen. Jim Talent contend at the Daily Mail<\/a>. Like pushing for a work requirement to qualify for welfare benefits, \u201cas President [Bill] Clinton and Speaker Newt Gingrich did.\u201d That could boost the labor supply, ease wage pressure on employers and keep prices down. Or cutting \u201cregulatory burdens\u201d to make it easier \u201cfor businesses to produce the goods necessary to meet high demand.\u201d Or working to maximize energy production \u201cby <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roving pipelines, granting leases and permits and encouraging banks to finance energy exploration and production.\u201d America needs policies that \u201creduce inflation rather than exacerbate it,\u201d but it first needs \u201ca president who understands the difference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Foreign beat: Biden Bows to Reality<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoe Biden\u2019s policy of treating the Saudis like a \u2018pariah\u2019 never made much sense,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/politics\/reality-bites-biden\">argues Jonathan Schanzer at the Washington Examiner.<\/a> \u201cHis forthcoming visit to the desert kingdom is an acknowledgment of that.\u201d Because Biden rendered the United States energy dependent, we now need \u201cSaudi oil in exchange for American security and diplomatic backing.\u201d Plus, \u201cTehran has ground the recent nuclear talks to a halt,\u201d despite huge US concessions.
