Wade<\/em>, <strong>Cheryl Burke<\/strong> is opening up about her abortion story.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Dancing With the Stars<\/em> pro joined many celebrities and politicians in voicing their outrage over the reversal of the landmark ruling \u2013 which also im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely triggered laws banning someone\u2019s right to end a pregnancy in thirteen states. But she had a more personal story to tell. Cheryl took to <strong>TikTok<\/strong> on Friday to reveal that she had an abortion at the age of 18, telling her followers:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis is really hard for me to talk about. But here I go as I said I\u2019m an open book. I am saddened by the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> this morning and it weighs heavy in my heart because I had an abortion when I was 18 years old. If it wasn\u2019t for places like <strong>Planned Parenthood<\/strong>, I would be a mother and I wouldn\u2019t have been a great mother and I definitely wouldn\u2019t be sitting here with you today. You\u2019re taking away women\u2019s rights, our bodies, our freedom. Our bodies have nothing to do with anybody else, right? This is a decision that we need to make.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Related: Rita Moreno \u2018Could Have Died\u2019 After Botched Abortion With Marlon Brando <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 38-year-old dancer explained in the video that she decided to get an abortion when she \u201cwas going through a really huge transition in my life.\u201d Taking several deep breaths, she recalled the \u201ctraumatic\u201d experience of heading to a Planned Parenthood clinic and walking past pro-life protesters just to get to her doctor, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI was practicing safe sex. I was using protection and I was on birth control and s**t h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ens. I was two weeks pregnant when I got an abortion. I remember rolling up to Planned Parenthood with Picketers holding anti-abortion signs and that alone was traumatic. But, on top of it all, the whole process is traumatic. And the fact that now, you\u2019re making it illegal for us women to make this decision about our own bodies is absolutely insanity. You know what world do we live in today.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Noting that it is \u201cnobody\u2019s business\u201d to determine her choice about this matter, Cheryl continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cHonestly, I\u2019m happy that I made that decision. I have no regrets, there\u2019s no shame behind it. I\u2019ve just chosen to share it now, but that doesn\u2019t mean that there was any shame I was living with. I think I made the right decision. I wouldn\u2019t be sitting here. I wouldn\u2019t be passionately doing what I love to do if it wasn\u2019t for the right to have an abortion.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She concluded by saying how the Supreme Court\u2019s decision is \u201cabsolutely absurd\u201d before urging everyone to continue to fight for abortion access:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI believe that we need to continue to fight. We shouldn\u2019t stop fighting for our rights as women.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>We appreciate Cheryl\u2019s honesty about her experience and using her platform to speak about such an important matter.
