Yes, the sun gives off radiation\u2014a sunburn is essentially a radiation burn. Doesn\u2019t sound quite so harmless, does it?<\/p>\n<p>We measure UV radiation with the\u00a0\u201cUltraviolet Index\u201d\u2014a.k.a. \u201cUV Index.\u201d This is the most important thing to check when trying to gauge the harshness of the sun. The higher the number on the index, the quicker you\u2019ll burn.<\/p>\n<p>You can easily check the UV index at any given time in most weather <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>s. Apple\u2019s Weather app for the\u00a0iPhone and iPad includes the UV Index. Just scroll down to the \u201cUV Index\u201d card.<\/p>\n<p>Also, if you\u2019re an Apple Watch owner, the \u201cInfographic\u201d watch face shows the UV Index as well. How long can you stay in the sun with sunscreen on? What if you have really pale skin, how long should you stay in the sun?<\/p>\n<p>You can answer these questions with a useful app for\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/uvlens-uv-index\/id1060878359?at=1010l392g\">iPhone<\/a>,\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/uvlens-uv-index\/id1060878359?at=1010l392g\">iPad<\/a>, and\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.spark64.uvlens.mobile&amp;hl=en_US&amp;gl=US\">Android<\/a>\u00a0called \u201cUVLens.\u201d The UV Index is displayed, of course, but the \u201cMy Skin\u201d tab is where things get really cool. At the center of the bracelet is a Gallium Nitride photodiode sensor. This is what detects UV radiation.<\/p>\n<p>You can press the \u201cUVA+B\u201d button at any time to see how close you are to your limit\u2014indicated by progress around the ring of lights.
