Here\u2019s how to use it on Windows 11.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Does_the_Advanced_Options_Menu_Do\"><\/span>What Does the Advanced Options Menu Do?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Advanced Startup Options Menu offers you a handful of utilities. Some of them are as simple as left-clicking the option and you\u2019re done, while others require extensive user interaction. Here is a brief rundown on what the utilities are and what they do.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Startup Repair: <\/strong>Startup Repair will attempt to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/howto\/7728\/troubleshot-startup-problems-with-startup-repair-tool-in-windows-7-vista\/\">automatically fix issues that prevent Windows 11 from booting correctly.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Startup Settings: <\/strong>Startup Settings allows you to change how Windows 11 Boots. You can do things like enable Safe Mode, debugging, or boot logging, to name a few.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Command Prompt: <\/strong>The Command Prompt option brings up a Command Prompt window that can be used to run diagnostic or repair commands.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Uninstall Updates: <\/strong>The\u00a0Uninstall Updates option will roll back the latest updates installed, including major Windows versions or updates.<\/li>\n<li><strong>UEFI Firmware Settings: <\/strong>This option restarts your computer and opens the BIOS\/UEFI.<\/li>\n<li><strong>System Restore: <\/strong>System Restore allows you to use a previously created restore point to roll back Windows to a point where it was working correctly.<\/li>\n<li><strong>System Image Recovery:<\/strong> System Image Recovery is similar to System Restore, but uses a complete system image instead of a restore point. System images are much larger and more complete than restore points and include all of your files, programs, and settings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Access_the_Advanced_Options_Menu\"><\/span>How to Access the Advanced Options Menu<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Windows 11, unlike Windows 10, does not support systems that are running a BIOS \u2014 they must be using UEFI. If you aren\u2019t, click \u201cSystem\u201d in the top left-hand corner of the Settings window. Just about anywhere that you see a \u201cRestart\u201d button will work, including the lock or login screen.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"After_Restarting_Your_Computer\"><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" name=\"autotoc_anchor_4\">After Restarting Your Computer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Your computer will display a blue screen with a few options on it after you click \u201cRestart Now\u201d in the recovery menu, or Shift-click \u201cRestart.\u201d Choose \u201cTroubleshoot\u201d from the listed options.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"admonishment_note\"><p><strong>Note:<\/strong> It is possible there will be more options available to you than are displayed here.
