Adults will now pay $30, up from $25; seniors will be $22, up from $17; and students will be $17, up from $12. With the impending $30 price point, the Met will be notably more expensive than the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.911memorial.org\/visit\/visit-museum-1\">9\/11 Memorial Museum ($26)<\/a>, the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.guggenheim.org\/plan-your-visit\/?gclid=CjwKCAjwzeqVBhAoEiwAOrEmzXnoym1q1b4o6r7aTzSQ9YKjQsMEkjOi0n0hdSxcJCe-KLYynE_PUBoCnbUQAvD_BwE&amp;gclsrc=aw.ds\">Guggenheim Museum ($25)<\/a>, the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.moma.org\/\">Museum of Modern Art<\/a> ($25), the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/visit.whitney.org\/\">Whitney Museum of American Art<\/a> ($25), the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amnh.org\/\">American Museum of Natural History<\/a> ($22 or pay-what-you-wish for NY, NJ and Conn. residents), the Brooklyn Museum ($16) and the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thejewishmuseum.org\/buy\/general-admission\">Jewish Museum ($15)<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Up until 2018, the Met\u2019s pay-what-you-wish policy extended to visitors from around the globe, the last museum in the world to have such broad guidelines. Ericson Contreras, a 19-year-old student from Harlem visiting the museum earlier in the week, called the new pricing \u201cabsurd\u201d and said he\u2019s been disappointed about the limited diversity in the museum\u2019s collection. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m personally Afro-Hispanic,\u201d he said. \u201cIt [makes] me mad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tourists visiting the museum had mixed emotions about the increase.<\/p>\n<p>Luke Fouche, a 29-year-old contract manager in town from South Africa, said he\u2019d gladly pay the $30. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not a big art fan, but for me to come and see so much art in one place is an experience,\u201d he said. \u201cPlus I think I\u2019m obligated to have a hot dog on the steps because it\u2019s a big thing.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor what you get to see, it\u2019s worth $30,\u201d said Melissa Calasso, a 38-year-old stay-at-home mom from Germany.<\/p>\n<p>Grace Miller, a 23-year-old visiting from Wisconsin, was less enthused.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s funny because the last time I was here, that was the first time they started charging,\u201d said Miller, referencing the 2018 change.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow that they\u2019re upping the price again,\u201d she said, \u201cI think I should stop coming to New York.\u201d\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
