Instagram Has Been Blocking Posts That Mention \u2018Abortion\u2019!<br \/>\n&#8220;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<div itemprop=\"articleBody\" class=\"text\">\nWhat the actual f**k, <strong>Instagram<\/strong>?!<\/p>\n<p>Ever since it was officially announced that the <strong>Supreme Court<\/strong> decided to overturn <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>, many people have flooded <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> to express their outrage, heartbreak, and personal stories. Many have even shared vital details, infographics, and more on how to donate to abortion organizations or protest this horrific situation across the country.<\/p>\n<p>However, some users may not have been able to see these posts. Why is that you may ask? Well, it turns out Instagram has been blocking a ton of posts that mention abortion! Yeah, we are not joking here. Following a major violation of human rights, where people are understandably storming social media to express their anger and spread the word about some crucial info, the platform hid these types of posts. And in some instances, they are requiring users to confirm their age before viewing it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Utah Lawmaker Says Women Can Control \u2018Intake Of Semen\u2019 \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a> To Us!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to a new investigation by the <em>Associated Press<\/em>, several accounts run by abortion rights advocacy groups discovered their posts were hidden \u2014 and hit with a \u201csensitive content\u201d warning. <em>NBC News<\/em> also learned that any hashtags about abortion pills, including <em>mifepristone<\/em>, which is a medication used for more than half of abortions in the US, were also being blocked from viewing. This included any users offering abortion pills to those who were not able to have access to them.<\/p>\n<p>Moments after posts would go up about help in getting an abortion on Instagram and <strong>Facebook<\/strong>, both platforms would also take it down. However, the same was reportedly not done for ones that offered things such as \u201cweed\u201d and \u201ca gun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Again, WTF\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The company soon addressed the situation on <strong>Twitter<\/strong> Tuesday, claiming it was some sort of \u201cbug\u201d:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe\u2019re hearing that people around the world are seeing our \u2018sensitivity screens\u2019 on many different types of content when they shouldn\u2019t be. We\u2019re looking into this bug and working on a fix now.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Andy Stone<\/strong>, spokesperson for <strong>Meta<\/strong>, the parent company of IG, later shared on Twitter that \u201cattempts to buy, sell, trade, gift, request or donate pharmaceuticals is not allowed,\u201d but noted that discussing \u201cthe affordability and accessibility of pre<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">script<\/a>ion medication is allowed.\u201d He added:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe\u2019ve discovered some instances of incorrect enforcement and are correcting these.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At this time, it looks like posts mentioning mifepristone and abortion pills are now being allowed on Insta. So it looks like the \u201cbug\u201d might have been fixed \u2014 but we\u2019ll have to wait and see if the issue comes up again.<\/p>\n<p>Reactions, Perezcious readers?
