The Surface Duo device is yet another attempt by Microsoft to enter the smartphone market. Surface Duo is the dual-screen, foldable Android device.\u00a0The device is running a customized Android 10 version with its own Duo UI shell.<\/p>\n

Microsoft is going support its Surface Duo devices for three years, shipping OS and security updates. This also means that it should receive Android 11.<\/p>\n

Microsoft also confirmed to us that the Surface Duo will have an unlockable bootloader. This means that enthusiasts will be able to get root permissions, and create firmware mods.<\/p>\n

Microsoft will start shipping Surface Duo on September 10, 2020. The starting price of $1,399 for the 128GB model.\u00a0 You can also get the 256GB device for $1,499. It is possible to pre-order it from\u00a0Microsoft Store,\u00a0Best Buy, and\u00a0AT&T. The latter one sells it with a payment plan and some additional software.<\/p>\n
