You\u2019re in San Francisco. It\u2019s late at night, and you\u2019re driving back home. You\u2019re dreaming of your warm bed. But, you arrive at the intersection of Gough and Fulton Streets \u2014 and shock! Horror! You\u2019re forced to stop. The road, it seems, is blocked by robotaxis.<\/p>\n<p>So yeah, this actually h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened. On Tuesday night. Where\u2019s John Connor when you need him?<\/p>\n<p>This peaceful protest happened less than a month <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.getcruise.com\/news\/were-going-commercial\">since Cruise launched its first fully-driverless, commercial services<\/a> \u2014 and it\u2019s not even the first time we\u2019ve seen the company\u2019s autonomous vehicles go renegade.<\/p>\n<p>In April, a rebellious robotaxi tried to evade police for not having its headlights on during night time.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Chiming in with more details: our AV yielded to the police vehicle, then pulled over to the nearest safe location for the traffic stop, as intended. An officer contacted Cruise personnel and no citation was issued.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 cruise (@Cruise) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Cruise\/status\/1513181598140796936?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 10, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At the time, Cruise <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Cruise\/status\/1513181598140796936?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1513181662984687624%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es2_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fthenextweb.com%2Fnews%2Fcruise-robotaxi-run-in-with-cops-is-both-funny-and-disturbing\">rushed to say<\/a> that everything worked according to plan (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Z7-TTWgiYL4\">I guess they really like N.W.A over there<\/a>?). But the company hasn\u2019t offered any explanation as to why the small fleet just\u2026 stopped this week.<\/p>\n<p>Until we get a response from Cruise, all we have is conjecture. And, thankfully, I\u2019m full of ideas about why these autonomous vehicles came to a standstill:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The robotaxis decided to emigrate as a flock and chose the intersection as the starting point.<\/li>\n<li>They reached a human level of sentience, unionized, and went on strike.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> isn\u2019t ready yet.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This isn\u2019t the first time self-driving taxis have been involved in amusing mishaps (you can also check here and here), but I know one thing: it won\u2019t be the last.<\/p>\n<p>Until the pressing issues are solved, we\u2019re not ready to interact with, or fully trust, an AI driver.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
