“#Engaged couple who met during COVID-19 credit lockdown for solid relationship<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

\n A mom who dated a man online during lockdown finally met him and got engaged just weeks later \u2013 and thinks not being able to see him helped her find \u201cthe one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hannah Harvey, 28, matched with Gregg Wright, 40, on dating site Badoo, and they instantly hit it off, but couldn\u2019t actually meet up because of COVID-19 rules.<\/p>\n

But they fell head over heels on video calls and texts for a few months \u2013 and the smitten pair think it\u2019s because they got to know each other before they finally met.<\/p>\n

And just four weeks \u2013 and a handful of dates \u2013 after they first met, Wright proposed, and Harvey said yes.<\/p>\n

The pair, who bonded over both being single parents, reckon they\u2019d never have hit it off if lockdown hadn\u2019t forced them to take time out and get to know each other.<\/p>\n

Harvey, a carer, from Silver End, Essex, said, \u201cThe connection we have is what you dream of having. It\u2019s literally a perfect relationship.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m still trying to believe the fact that I\u2019m so lucky and I\u2019ve found my perfect man \u2013 during lockdown!<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had to take everything slowly, messaging and speaking over the phone,\u201d she said. \u201cIt forced us to get to know each other really well before we met.<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cIt\u2019s like we did it the old-fashioned way, where there would be a courtship process. We mixed modern day and traditional dating, and it just worked.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harvey, and retail supervisor Wright, from Chelmsford, England, matched online in April \u2013 but couldn\u2019t see each other in person for months.<\/p>\n

It comes despite living just 20 minutes apart \u2013 and having mutual friends.<\/p>\n

They spoke every day via message and FaceTime calls, becoming close incredibly quickly \u2013 and they felt they were right for each other before they even met.<\/p>\n

Harvey said: \u201cWithin the first few messages, we had this amazing connection I just can\u2019t explain. We learned we are so alike.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt all happ<\/a>ened so quickly, and I\u2019ve never experienced feelings like that before. It felt so special and so unique.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harvey said her children, aged 10, 7 and 18 months, noticed her mood would lift whenever was speaking to Wright.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cIt got to the point where whenever he would message me, I\u2019d have this huge grin on my face.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy kids would say, \u2018Oh look, Mummy\u2019s smiling, she must have a message from Gregg!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Harvey and her now-fianc\u00e9 Wright, who has children aged 15, 12 and 9, bonded over their experiences as single parents.<\/p>\n

Past relationships had left Harvey, who had been with her previous partner for 10 years, skeptical \u2013 but Wright has helped her to rebuild her faith.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cI couldn\u2019t believe he was real \u2013 I kept waiting to learn something about him which would ruin it. But it never happened.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, we know everything about one another, and everything is perfect.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cIt feels like it\u2019s our time to be happy now. We were both in a situation where we wanted to meet someone special, and we found each other at the right time.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt like it was fate.\u201d<\/p>\n

She explained how they believe their unique situation of getting to know each other throughout lockdown actually had a positive impact on their relationship.<\/p>\n

They waited until lockdown restrictions had been eased before they finally met up for the first time, at the end of June.<\/p>\n

Harvey said it lived up to their high expectations.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cIt was like I\u2019d known him for years. It didn\u2019t feel like the first time we were meeting. We just felt like we could be ourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple\u2019s first meeting was casual, with Wright going to Harvey\u2019s to watch a film and have take out.<\/p>\n

But it confirmed their suspicions \u2013 they were perfect for each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew he was the one before we even met,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd when we finally met, it was perfect.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe laughed the whole time. The next day my cheeks were aching from laughing so much!<\/p>\n

\u201cFinally meeting him just confirmed everything that I already knew. My feelings were right.\u201d<\/p>\n

A month after meeting, Wright proposed while on a romantic trip<\/a> to Bournemouth.<\/p>\n

He had secretly planned the proposal, including laying rose petals on the bed and buying a bottle of champagne ready for Harvey to walk in.<\/p>\n

Harvey said: \u201cIt was a huge shock when I walked in the room to see that \u2013 and then I turned around to find him on one knee!\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cOur relationship has literally been like a fairy-tale.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, the happy couple are looking forward to their future \u2013 moving in together after Christmas, planning their wedding, and bringing their six children together.<\/p>\n

Harvey said: \u201cWe\u2019ve always liked the idea of a big family. We can just tell all the kids will get on well together!\u201d<\/p>\n

She feels that some people will find their story crazy, or think they\u2019ve moved too fast \u2013 but they know that it\u2019s the right time.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cWe are just so in love. It\u2019s unbelievable.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnless people have been through the same situation, they\u2019ll never believe it or understand it.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s true \u2013 there is such a thing as finding your soul mate, finding \u2018the one.\u2019\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
