The roadmap is light on details (pardon the pun), with Microsoft only describing it as \u201can Android <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a> that brings the main benefits of Outlook in a smaller app size with fast performance for lightweight devices on any network.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft Outlook Lite is <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.microsoft.outlooklite&amp;gl=mx\">already available on the Google Play Store<\/a> in a few countries, such as Turkey and Mexico, and the app\u2019s page has more details about what to expect. The current version of Outlook Lite has integrated email, calendar, and contacts, but has a much smaller download size of around 5 MB (the regular Android app is around 86 MB) and is optimized for devices that only have 1 GB of RAM. The app already has 100,000 downloads in the regions where it is officially available.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 1620px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-816427\" data-pagespeed-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/download.jpg?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"Microsoft Outlook Lite images\" width=\"1620\" height=\"1440\" src=\"\/pagespeed_static\/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span class=\"imagecredit\">Microsoft<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The catch is that Outlook Lite is only compatible with Microsoft\u2019s own services: Outlook.com and Microsoft 365 accounts, and corporate Exchange servers. The normal Outlook app can synchronize with Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo Mail, and other third-party services. There are <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/get-help-with-outlook-lite-for-android-78eb02b2-1c16-4da3-90e2-5edd14bcafa0\">a few other missing features<\/a>, like dark mode, synchronization with device contacts, and event reminders. It\u2019s not clear if any of those shortcomings will be addressed before this month\u2019s global rollout.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s common for popular apps and services to offer \u2018Lite\u2019 versions for lower-end Android devices, mostly aimed at developing countries where flagship phones aren\u2019t common and storage is at a premium. There\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.facebook.lite&amp;gl=US\">Facebook Lite<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.facebook.mlite&amp;gl=US\">Messenger Lite<\/a>, and\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.skype.m2\">Skype Lite<\/a>, to name a few.
