by Elon Musk to go through.<\/p>\n<p> The layoffs, announced Thursday, seemed inevitable after Twitter<br \/>\n        TWTR,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/203180645\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+1.52%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       Chief Executive Parag Agrawal said in May the company would suspend hiring to shave costs. <\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       Twitter executives are in the midst of restructuring the company and made the staff reduction to align with business needs, a source familiar with the rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>arently hit a snag, according to a Washington Post <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" Musk\u2019s team has cooled talks after it concluded that Twitter\u2019s figures on spam accounts are not verifiable, sources told the Post. <\/p>\n<p>Earlier Thursday, Twitter said it removes 1 million spam accounts daily in a call with executives during a briefing intended to shed more light on the company\u2019s fake and bot accounts.
