Do people really think <strong>Kourtney Kardashian<\/strong>\u2018s parenting style ruined her relationship with\u00a0<strong>Scott Disick<\/strong>?!<\/p>\n<p>A high-profile child-raising whiz is speaking out about that possibility with a shocking new argument. Parenting expert\u00a0<strong>Kirsty Ketley<\/strong> wrote a piece for\u00a0<em>The Sun<\/em> on Thursday in which she argues Kourt\u2019s \u201cattachment parenting\u201d style may have hampered the 43-year-old reality TV star\u2019s past relationship with the father of her three children. Damn!!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Kourtney Slams Paparazzi Following Travis Barker\u2019s Scary\u00a0Hospitalization!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In her piece, Ketley uses the <strong>Poosh<\/strong> founder\u2019s own words to lay out the case. The parenting expert explains that Kourt herself has given a hat tip to the attachment parenting theory before, claiming in a\u00a0<em>Redbook<\/em> interview that she \u201cdidn\u2019t plan it,\u201d but the style \u201ccame naturally\u201d to her.<\/p>\n<p>Ketley explained the attachment parenting ethic, which was first developed by pediatrician <strong>William Sears<\/strong> in the 1980s,\u00a0and why it\u2019s so popular with parents nowadays:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIn a nutshell, it is about constant physical closeness and being responsive to your baby, which includes baby wearing, co-sleeping and long-term breastfeeding.\u00a0The thinking is by attending to a baby\u2019s needs in a responsive way, you help them feel safe and secure.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The parenting guru continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe core idea is a secure parent-child attachment, achieved by being sensitive and responsive, paves the way for their independence and secure relationships as an adult.\u00a0It\u2019s something all parents would want for their kids and, like Kourtney, feels natural, which is why it has become such a well-liked way to parent.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"highlight\">Inneresting!<\/p>\n<p>According to Ketley, the attachment parenting style includes things like breastfeeding \u201con demand,\u201d frequently holding your baby close, avoiding a strict \u201cadult-imposed\u201d feeding schedule, being responsive to a baby\u2019s cries, and even co-sleeping!<\/p>\n<p>And that last one, the co-sleeping, is particularly noteworthy for the parenting expert.<\/p>\n<p>Ketley explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cMany parents don\u2019t set out to co-sleep, baby wear or breastfeed long term, they have ideas of being able to put the baby down whenever they need to and visions of their baby sleeping h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ily in the crib.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ironically, that\u2019s nearly\u00a0<em>exactly<\/em> what Kourtney has said in the past. Like, almost verbatim!!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Travis Barker<\/strong>\u2018s wife previously explained how she accidentally came across co-sleeping in that same earlier\u00a0<em>Redbook<\/em> chat:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhen I had Mason, co-sleeping just kind of happened naturally. It\u2019s what worked for all of us to get the most sleep, so I quickly embraced it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And in a separate piece she later wrote for her own lifestyle site, the Poosh founder touched on co-sleeping once more:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI remember going through times of trying to get him to sleep in his own bed.\u00a0Many nights he would start off in his room and make his way into ours.\u00a0I eventually embraced a family bed and followed his lead for when he was ready to sleep in his room.\u00a0When he was seven, he started sleeping in his room on his own.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>So that\u2019s something!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_870294\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-870294\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-870294 lazyload\" width=\"1200\" src=\"https:\/\/perezhilton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/kourtney-kardashian-claps-back-instagram-commenter-family-parenting-kravis-criticism-clean.jpg\" alt=\"Kourtney Kardashian Claps Back At Critic Who Calls Out KUWTK Star's Kravis Focus Over Kids\" height=\"833\" srcset=\"https:\/\/perezhilton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/kourtney-kardashian-claps-back-instagram-commenter-family-parenting-kravis-criticism-clean.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/perezhilton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/kourtney-kardashian-claps-back-instagram-commenter-family-parenting-kravis-criticism-clean-300x208.jpg 300w, https:\/\/perezhilton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/kourtney-kardashian-claps-back-instagram-commenter-family-parenting-kravis-criticism-clean-1024x711.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/perezhilton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/kourtney-kardashian-claps-back-instagram-commenter-family-parenting-kravis-criticism-clean-768x533.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-870294\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">With the kids older now, Kourtney and Travis maybe won\u2019t run into the same issue?! \/ (c) Kourtney Kardashian\/Instagram<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ketley explained that there are supposedly a lot of positives to co-sleeping, and the other aspects of the attachment parenting style of child-rearing.<\/p>\n<p>The expert wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt has been shown to buffer the effects of parent stress on a child, which reduces the likelihood of emotional and behavioral problems as a result of these stresses, and it helps kids regulate their emotions more effectively \u2014 which may mean less tantrums. \u2026 It has been shown toddlers with a secure attachment score better in intelligence tests, and research babies who received skin-to skin care in their first few weeks had better sleep patterns as they grew.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>But. BUT!!! There are significant negatives, too.<\/p>\n<p>The parenting guru argued that the attachment parenting way of life can have negative consequences for the parents\u2019 relationship with each other after childbirth:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cSome feel it can have a negative impact on other relationships in a parent\u2019s life.\u00a0Co-sleeping can mean one parent sleeps in another room, for instance and may feel neglected, as Scott Disick did during the early years of son Mason\u2019s life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"highlight\">Hmmm\u2026<\/p>\n<p>And Kirsty rightly points out one more little thing:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAttachment Parenting can also be seen as a privilege for those who don\u2019t have to return to work.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Yeah, so Kourt is definitely covered on that part\u2026<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s all supposition, of course, but what do y\u2019all make of Ketley\u2019s argument about attachment parenting possibly killing Kourt\u2019s connection to Lord Disick?? There were many (many, <em>many)<\/em> other problems going on in that relationship, too. On his side. So it can\u2019t <em>all<\/em> be blamed on attachment parenting.
