Users should see a notification for the update (version\u00a0QTS1.220504.008), which includes several small bug fixes and improvements.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the fixes included in this update, according to Google:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Security patch updated to May 2022<\/li>\n<li>Platform improvements to help <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>s with 4K HDR video and DRM video playback<\/li>\n<li>Improvements to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth<\/li>\n<li>Additional bug fixes and performance improvements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While this isn\u2019t the Android 12 update some users were hoping for, it\u00a0<em>does<\/em> update the Chromecast from the outdated October 2021 security patch and includes new firmware for the Chromecast remote. It should also address some common bugs, especially those related to 4K HDR streaming.<\/p>\n<p>We don\u2019t know the full scope of this firmware update, as Google hasn\u2019t discussed it in any blog posts or support pages. At the time of writing, the\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/chromecast\/answer\/7124014?hl=en#zippy=%2Ccurrent-production-firmware-version\">Chromecast firmware changelog<\/a>\u00a0doesn\u2019t mention this update.<\/p>\n<p>I should note that the Chromcast with Google TV has received several new features over the last few months, including user profiles. But this new firmware update seems like an attempt to fix bugs, which are the most common complaint among Chromecast users.<\/p>\n<p>Your Chromecast should update automatically or show a notification asking you to update.
