Buterin also explained that nodes reject invalid blocks in both PoS and PoW. <\/p>\n<p>Last week, author Jimmy Song also <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jimmysong\/status\/1543364278014582787\">came<\/a> after PoS, questioning the decentralization of the consensus mechanism. According to Song, the mechanism doesn&#8217;t solve the Byzantine <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>s problem. In a Twitter thread, Raman said that the change to PoS gives Ethereum the economic structure to challenge Bitcoin\u2019s supremacy in the crypto space. <\/p>\n<p>Earlier in July, Ethereum completed a significant trial for the Merge on the Sepolia testnet, pushing the platform nearer to the shift to the PoS consensus mechanism.
