The trial started in the\u00a0Central District of California on Wednesday (July 13) and the 22-year-old r<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>er scored an early legal victory.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/nba-youngboy-trial-judge-excludes-rap-lyrics-as-evidence-1381658\/\"><em>Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>, lyrics from YoungBoy\u2019s songs\u00a0\u201cGunsmoke,\u201d \u201cLife Support\u201d and \u201cLonely Child\u201d were dismissed from the case after the prosecution tried to use them to connect him to an FN pistol he was reportedly arrested with.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YoungBoy Never Broke Again - Gunsmoke [Official Audio]\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WZujMll0Mjg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese lyrics are highly prejudicial as they discuss hardcore rap which has been empirically established to be more negatively received than other genres of music,\u201d YoungBoy\u2019s legal team argued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt would be one thing if the music described this arrest. But a song referencing a similar gun well before the gun in the indictment was purchased \u2026 offer[s] very minimal probative value and [is] substantially outweighed by the prejudice contained within the words of the songs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They continued, \u201cEven if Mr. Gaulden is familiar with various models of guns and sings about them, it does not mean that he knew this particular gun was secreted on the passenger floor of the Maybach when police attempted to pull his car over to arrest him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Police Department That Arrested YoungBoy Never Broke Again Reportedly Center Of Corruption Scandal\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4FdSYRXab_A?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>NBA YoungBoy (real name Kentrell Gaulden) was arrested in Los Angeles on March 22, 2021 after a short pursuit in his vehicle \u2014 and even on foot \u2014 until police found him in a neighbor\u2019s backyard.<\/p>\n<p>The Baton Rouge native allegedly had an outstanding warrant against him and police tried to pull him over once he departed from his L.A. home. After searching his car, cops reportedly found an FN .45 pistol, which they tied to being in YB\u2019s possession, and subsequently arrested him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey have no fingerprint evidence to submit to you that indicates that he handled that firearm,\u201d YoungBoy\u2019s attorney\u00a0James P. Manasseh told the court. \u201cThey will not have any DNA evidence that they can present to you that will indicate that his DNA is on that firearm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn fact, what they\u2019re going to show is that there are five different DNA profiles on that gun. So many that they can\u2019t really identify and say whose might have been on it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NBA YoungBoy\u2018s federal trial is expected to last four days.
