Its name is a nod to Nas\u2019 \u201cthe smooth criminal on beat breaks\u201d line from the Premo-produced \u201cN.Y. (Premo featured on Nas and Hit-Boy\u2019s 2021 song \u201cWave Gods,\u201d but his contribution was limited to scratches.)<\/p>\n<p>Before that, they formed a formidable duo in the \u201990s and early \u201900s on <em>Illmatic<\/em> standouts such as \u201cRepresent,\u201d \u201cMemory Lane\u201d and the aforementioned \u201cN.Y. During a 2015 <em>VladTV<\/em> interview, the Gang Starr producer claimed Nas wanted to fulfill his Def Jam deal (which ended with 2018\u2019s <em>Nasir<\/em>) before focusing on the fabled project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNas has one more album to obligate to Def Jam,\u201d he said. \u201cHe said he didn\u2019t really want to do [the joint album] there, he wanted to move on and do it independently, so we could do it how we want it. So I was like, \u2018All right, when the time come just holler at me, I\u2019m here.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Nas, DJ Premier\u2019s <em>Hip Hop 50 Volume 1<\/em> boasts <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earances from Lil Wayne, Joey Bada$$, Run The Jewels, Slick Rick, Remy Ma and Rapsody.
