The group has made it to the Postmaster General\u2019s house in Northwest DC.

\n Protesters gathered at the home of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy on Saturday to demand his resignation \u2014 a significant escalation of public pressure amid a pitched battle over mail-in ballots for the 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n

About 100 demonstrators gathered outside DeJoy\u2019s home in the wealthy Washington D.C. enclave of Kalorama.<\/p>\n

The crowd banged drums and shook noisemakers, while holding signs reading \u201cSave democracy, stop sabotaging the USPS\u201d<\/p>\n

The protest was organized by the group Shut Down D.C which accused DeJoy of undermining the Post Office to make it more difficult to count mailed in ballots for the 2020 elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re in the middle of a historic pandemic and as many as 40 percent of Americans plan on casting their ballot by mail. If we can\u2019t rely on those ballots getting to where they need to go, we\u2019ve got a serious problem with democracy,\u201d Patrick Young, of Shut Down D.C. told WUSA9 News<\/a>.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
