Biden\u2019s disapproval rating is even worse when it comes to the issue of inflation, with 71% of respondents expressing dissatisfaction with his handling of the crisis.<\/p>\n<figure are coughing up an extra $500 per month due to surging inflation \u2014 with daily necessities such as gas, groceries and rent among the expenses hammering budgets.<\/p>\n<p>Inflation is also resulting in an effective pay cut for many workers because it is eroding wage gains.<\/p>\n<p>Biden reiterated that addressing inflation is his \u201ctop priority\u201d \u2014 though critics have the June Consumer Price Index was \u201cout of date\u201d since gas prices have fallen from record highs in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEnergy alone comprised nearly half of the monthly increase in inflation. Today\u2019s data does not reflect the full impact of nearly 30 days of decreases in gas prices, that have reduced the price at the pump by about 40 cents since mid-June,\u201d Biden said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose savings are providing important breathing room for American families.
