And many of these problems, particularly battery drain and Bluetooth connection dropouts, were first reported in 2021. Now, it seems that Fitbit is addressing these two complaints with a firmware update.<\/p>\n<p>In a new <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FitbitSupport\/status\/1547521562521128960\">Twitter post<\/a>, Fitbit Support says that it\u2019s currently rolling a firmware update to address the Charge 5\u2019s battery drain bug. Several users claim that their Charge 5 lasts just a few hours on battery life instead of working for several days.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">You&#8217;re welcome. We recently released the new firmware update to fix this issue. This is a progressive roll-out so we recommend to keep an eye for this. You&#8217;ll see a banner in the Fitbit <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a> once it is available on your end.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Fitbit Support (@FitbitSupport) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FitbitSupport\/status\/1547521562521128960?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 14, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This update <em>probably<\/em>\u00a0tackles Bluetooth dropouts along with the battery drain issue. Last month, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/redirect.viglink.com\/?key=204a528a336ede4177fff0d84a044482&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fcommunity.fitbit.com%2Ft5%2FCharge-5%2FCharge-5-keeps-losing-Bluetooth-connection%2Fm-p%2F5169454%2Fhighlight%2Ftrue%23M17022\">Fitbit moderators confirmed<\/a>\u00a0that Bluetooth connection errors are a top priority. It\u2019s not uncommon for the Charge 5 to randomly disconnect from phones, which obviously makes the device somewhat unusable.<\/p>\n<p>But Fitbit hasn\u2019t confirmed that this update fixes the Bluetooth bug. And as <em><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/news\/fitbit-charge-5-blasted-by-angry-users-over-battery-and-connection-issues\">TechRadar<\/a><\/em> notes, the company first acknowledged the Charge 5\u2019s Bluetooth problem in March. Waiting nearly half a year to fix such a devastating bug doesn\u2019t inspire confidence in users or critics.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, Fitbit\u2019s\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/redirect.viglink.com\/?key=204a528a336ede4177fff0d84a044482&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fhelp.fitbit.com%2Farticles%2Fen_US%2FHelp_article%2F1372.htm\">firmware support page<\/a>\u00a0doesn\u2019t offer any additional information for this update. All we know is that it\u2019s taking a while to roll out.
