\n Members of the House are reportedly considering rushing back from their August break to address the Trump administration\u2019s handling of the U.S. Postal Service.<\/p>\n

Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic colleagues are discussing a possible return to Washington within the next two weeks, sources told Politico.<\/p>\n

The Chamber had originally planned to stay in recess until mid-September.<\/p>\n

Pelosi hashed out options for an early return with House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) and House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC) during an \u201cemergency\u201d call Saturday, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n

The House reportedly would focus on the ways in which they allege Trump\u2019s postmaster general<\/a>, Louis DeJoy, is undermining the agency ahead of the November election.<\/p>\n

Trump has said he\u2019s resisting funding the cash-strapp<\/a>ed USPS because he wants to prevent a surge in mail-in voting during the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

A protest was organized in Washington, D.C., Saturday, targeting DeJoy for making changes to the postal service that have slowed service.<\/p>\n

Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer issued a statement Friday condemning what they called Trump\u2019s \u201cassault on the postal service and elections.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe President made plain that he will manipulate the operations of the Post Office to deny eligible voters the ballot in pursuit of his own re-election,\u201d they said. \u201cThe President\u2019s own words confirm: he needs to cheat to win.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
