Konate was previously hospitalized after he sustained gunshot wounds in what authorities believe he sustained during the attempted robbery of Tjay.<\/p>\n<p>The <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bcpo.net\/three-men-charged-in-edgewater-nj-shooting\/\">Bergen County Prosecutor\u2019s Office<\/a> had previously explained that Konate attempted to rob\u00a0Lil Tjay\u00a0and his two friends Antoine Boyd, 22, and Jeffrey Valdez, 24, while they sat in a Dodge Durango near the Promenade shopping center in the Bronx on June 22.<\/p>\n<p>When Tjay resisted, Konate allegedly fired near-fatal shots at\u00a0him, striking him in the thoracic cavity, which is the area that holds the rib cage, heart, lungs, esophagus and other vital organs. One of Tjay\u2019s friends was shot once, while Konate was also wounded.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators claimed\u00a0an associate had helped Konate to a BMW following the shooting, then dropped him off at Lennox Hill Hospital on Park Avenue in Manhattan\u2019s Upper East Side. The investigators would not identify the associate, as they are reportedly cooperating with authorities.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cIn My Head\u201d rapper was airlifted to\u00a0Hackensack University Medical Center and underwent emergency surgery, where he is now said to be awake, talking and breathing on his own. Konate is\u00a0being charged with three counts of first-degree attempted murder, while two associates are being charged with second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.<\/p>\n<p>Lil Tjay\u2019s most recent project,\u00a0<em>Destined 2 Win<\/em>, arrived in 2021, which included the Billboard Hot 100 hit \u201cCalling My Phone\u201d featuring 6LACK, as well as \u201cHeadshot\u201d with\u00a0Fivio Foreign\u00a0and\u00a0Polo G.
