He\u2019s been proving it ever since, sharing consistently strong singles at an impressive clip. He also dropped a tight, featureless project titled <i>The Collection<\/i> at the end of May and collaborated with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCtfcPNFRLOLDIQPXa1j4egw\">VL Deck<\/a> to release the <i>C4<\/i> EP four days later.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            Today, the Bronx-born, Bama-raised, Atlanta-based emcee is unveiling <i>Vier<\/i>, a four-track tape that finds him looking back on his past without regrets, and toward the future with a renewed optimism. Its cocky opener \u201cDrillC4\u201d \u2014 \u201cWho better for you than me?\u201d \u2014 is followed by \u201cPrivate Matter,\u201d an ode to dead and incarcerated friends and family members with the names redacted in real time. The project\u2019s second half follows suit: \u201cSend My Bitch,\u201d which arrives alongside a Never Panic Films visual treatment (premiering below), is an ice-cold bridge-burning anthem featuring an <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ropriately ruthless verse from fellow Atlanta transplant (by way of Fort Worth, Texas) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/luvenchanting\/?hl=en\">Enchanting<\/a>. But it leads into \u201cJuly The 4th,\u201d where Trayle reflects on an event that almost ended his life: On Independence Day 2013, he was shot seven times during a botched burglary of his home but somehow survived the ordeal.<\/p>\n<p>            Last week, I reached out to Trayle via email to ask him about his rap roots, the apparent allusions to the YSL indictment in \u201cPrivate Matter,\u201d the accusations of misogyny that plagued him following his breakout hit \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=gTlSvYgIiv8\">OK Cool<\/a>,\u201d and his near-death experience nine years ago. His answers were mostly brief and to the point, and sometimes flat-out rejections of my questions \u2014 the responses of a rapper clearly comfortable letting his bars speak for themselves.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-235169\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<h5 class=\"headline\" style=\"margin-bottom: 30px;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Drill_C4\"><\/span>\n        1. Who were some artists you looked up to from each scene, and do you still pull from those different styles?<\/b><\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            <b>CEO Trayle:<\/b> Some artists I looked up to were [infamous Harlem drug traffickers] Frank Lucas [and] Rich Porter, 50 Cent, Rocko, and Gucci Mane. I definitely still pull from those different styles, but I have my own sound. <\/p>\n<p>            <b>Being from the Bronx originally, do you feel a connection to what\u2019s going on in the drill scene up there?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>            No. Connected in what way?<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            <b>How do you feel about Eric Adams\u00a0trying to get drill rappers banned from <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> platforms\u00a0because of the violence within that scene?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>            I feel like as the ages [go] on, it\u2019s always something about younger artists that the older generation doesn\u2019t necessarily agree with. I just knew I had to work harder to make more songs than \u201cOK Cool\u201d.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            <b>You said people assumed you didn\u2019t respect\u00a0women because of how much you used the word \u201cbitch\u201d in that song. A lot of misogyny still gets a pass in hip-hop lyrics. Why do you think people had a problem with your song \u2014 which clearly has some irony to it \u2014 more than others?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>            Some people think differently than I do. The older you get, the more you realize that everyone has different views on things.<\/p>\n<p>            <b>\u201cSend My Bitch\u201d is a totally different song and it features\u00a0a female rapper, but are you at all worried about feedback\u00a0you might get from it?<\/b><\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            No, the negative feedback won\u2019t bother me much.
