What started as an \u201880s throwback, inspired by the works of Steven Spielberg and Stephen King, <em>Stranger Things<\/em> now rivals <em><a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Game<\/a> of Thrones<\/em> and Marvel franchises in popularity, but one star had his reservations about the show initially.<br \/>\n <!-- No winning ad found for zone: word count #1! --><!-- No winning ad found for zone: below first paragraph! --><!-- No winning ad found for zone: mid intro! --><br \/>\n<strong>David Harbour<\/strong>, who plays Jim Hopper, the sheriff of <em>Stranger Things\u2019<\/em> fictional town of Hawkins, thought the show wouldn\u2019t survive past season one. Harbour <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared on the BBC\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/iplayer\/episode\/m0019n3m\/the-one-show-25072022\"><em>The One Show<\/em><\/a> (via <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.insider.com\/stranger-things-david-harbour-thought-show-disaster-2022-7\">Insider<\/a>) recently with Bill Pullman to talk about their play <em>Mad House<\/em>. It was only a matter of time before <em>Stranger Things<\/em> came up. I remember when we were shooting the first season. We were down in Atlanta, Netflix had given us a budget of about $20. Halfway through I remember my hair person coming up to me, like about episode four we were shooting, and she was like, &#8216;I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s gonna work.&#8217; By the time we finished, we wrapped, I thought we wouldn&#8217;t get a second season, we&#8217;d be the first Netflix show kind of ever to never get a second season. We thought no one would watch it, it was going to be a disaster.&#8221;\n <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!-- No winning ad found for zone: word count #2! --><br \/>\nHarbour didn\u2019t really explain what made him believe that, but <em>Stranger Things<\/em> certainly was a risky bet for Netflix. The creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, showed promise and had previously worked with M. Night Shyamalan on <em>Wayward Pines,<\/em> but were still fairly new to a big-budget, ambitious show like <em>Stranger Things<\/em>. Plus, the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> had kids as protagonists, something other networks had cited as a reason while rejecting the Duffer brothers\u2019 pitch. In fact, most of their best shows, <em>Narcos, Daredevil, and House of Cards,<\/em> were made at that time. <em>Stranger Things,<\/em> too, has been immensely successful for Netflix and is one of the few ongoing shows that\u2019ve run beyond season three, but the beloved series is set to conclude with the upcoming fifth and final season.<br \/>\n<!-- Zone: character count repeatable. --><br \/>\n <!-- No winning ad found for zone: word count #3! --><br \/>\n<em>Stranger Things <\/em>season 4 premiered last month after a three-year gap and is, so far, the biggest series of the year. One of the surprises season 4 served up was David Harbour\u2019s return as Jim Hopper, considering the character seemingly perished in the season 3 finale. Harbour had made peace with his character\u2019s demise and even thought he should die sometimes. But Hopper\u2019s resurrection in season four has changed Harbour\u2019s perspective, and he hopes <em>Stranger Things<\/em> will close out his arc convincingly in the next season, which the <em>Hellboy <\/em>star teases will be quite emotional.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n&#8220;I think it varies from person to person, from character to character, and I\u2019m such a harassment specialist that I think I\u2019ve gotten it out of them. It\u2019s been back and forth about like, \u2018What happens to Hopper?
