Williams was coming down from a three-day drug bender when he met Barack Obama during a 2008 campaign stop.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Wire\u201d star \u2014 who died from an accidental overdose last September at 54 \u2014 made the startling admission in a memoir written prior to his passing. The tome, \u201cScenes From My Life,\u201d is set to be published later this month.<\/p>\n<p>In an excerpt obtained by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11070137\/Michael-K-Williams-posthumous-memoir-tells-three-day-cocaine-binge-meeting-Barack-Obama.html?ito=push-notification&amp;ci=j06kN6fnz9&amp;cri=xsaTAYnYfl&amp;si=11485335&amp;xi=a6a120cd-b1ff-44d3-8fb6-db031efb0281&amp;ai=11070137\">Daily Mail,<\/a> Williams recalls being invited to attend an event in Harrisburg, Virginia, by Obama \u2014 who has famously declared that \u201cThe Wire\u201d is his <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/the-fix\/wp\/2015\/03\/31\/president-obama-loves-the-wire-he-also-thinks-it-can-help-solve-our-criminal-justice-problems\/\">favorite show. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, when he arrived at the event, Williams was so high on cocaine that he had lockjaw and was unable to speak properly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI couldn\u2019t even put my words together,\u201d he writes in the memoir. \u201cI was such a mess. Obama shook my hand and I could see it in his eyes. He was like: \u2018I don\u2019t got time for this.\u2019 He kept it moving. I was not in my right mind. Recalling the violent incident, the star says that there was a \u201cgigantic cavern of blood\u201d and that it felt as if his \u201cskull was on fire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, he claims the scar \u2014 which became his trademark facial feature \u2014 allowed him to become \u201cnoticed\u201d in the entertainment industry as it was a \u201clook no one else had.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"674\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/08\/scenes-from-my-life.jpg?w=674\" alt=\"The tome was written by Williams prior to his tragic death. Despite garnering critical and popular acclaim for the role, the star was never able to beat his battle with drugs. <\/p>\n<p>Williams was found dead at his home in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, last September. An autopsy revealed his death was caused by acute intoxication from a mix of\u00a0fentanyl, <br \/>p-fluorofentanyl, heroin and cocaine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Four people were subsequently arrested by police, charged with selling the star lethal bags of\u00a0fentanyl-laced heroin.
