His Chuck catfishes his son, Franklin, by creating a fake <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> profile of a hot woman with a crush on him. Things go way too far \u2014 like, full-on sexting \u2014 before Franklin discovers the excruciating truth.<\/p>\n<p>Cringiest of all? The director, writer and portrayer of Franklin, James Morosini, now 32, based the story on his real-life experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy dad and I got into a big fight and I decided to cut him out of my life,\u201d Morosini told The Post of an incident when he was 20. \u201cI blocked him on social media. He was really worried about me, but I wouldn\u2019t talk with him. Then one day, I met this really pretty girl online, and she seemed awesome and had all these amazing pictures and the same interests as me. As part of his recovery, he decides to cut off contact with his compulsive-liar dad, who\u2019s divorced from Franklin\u2019s mom (Amy Landecker) and never manages to be around for his son.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Chuck gets unintentionally terrible advice from a co-worker (Lil Rel Howery) and decides to cook up a fake account to get in touch with his son \u2014 by stealing a real name and photos from a friendly waitress (Claudia Sulewski). Over the next several weeks, the vulnerable Franklin gets drawn into chatting online with \u201cBecca,\u201d even after he\u2019s realized he\u2019s her only friend on the site. The chats progress to sexting \u2014 which Morosini depicts by intercutting Franklin embracing his imagined Becca and Franklin embracing his father.  <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"757\" height=\"870\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/08\/Morosini1-1.jpg?w=757\" alt=\"James Mororsini and his father Claudio Lichtenthal at a film screening. \" class=\"wp-image-23333716\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/08\/Morosini1-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 757w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/08\/Morosini1-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=379 378w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 757px) 100vw, 757px\"\/><figcaption>Mororsini and his father, Claudio Lichtenthal, at a film screening. <\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/Claudio Lichtenthal<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Morosini, who\u2019s had roles in \u201cAmerican Horror Story: Roanoke\u201d and \u201cThe Sex Lives of College Girls,\u201d seems reticent to go too far into the specifics of what actually went down in the exchange between him and his dad. \u201cIt didn\u2019t progress as far as the one in the movie,\u201d he said. \u201cBut I\u2019ll say this: It went further than I wish it had.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As he <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/the-hollywood-actor-who-was-catfished-by-his-dad-posing-as-a-hot-girl\">told the Daily Beast<\/a> earlier this year, Morosini finally discovered the subterfuge when he looked at his love interest\u2019s email address \u2014 which was the same as his father\u2019s.
