Here\u2019s how to close the lid without putting your PC to sleep.<\/p>\n<p>First, open Windows Settings by pressing Windows+i on your keyboard. Under \u201cPower and sleep buttons and lid settings,\u201d you\u2019ll see several options that let you choose what happens when you press the power or sleep buttons on your device.<\/p>\n<p>Near the bottom, you\u2019ll see \u201cWhen I Close the Lid.\u201d If you want your laptop to stay awake while not plugged in (and on battery power only), choose \u201cDo Nothing\u201d under the \u201cOn Battery\u201d column.
