The inquiry seemed to be made in response to investigations from the House Financial Services Committee in 2020 and 2021 that concluded \u201cthere is still much work to be done to increase diversity and inclusion\u201d at major banks and investment firms. The lawmakers asked the companies to respond by Sept. 2.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>US lawmakers ask about EPA, DOE monitoring of crypto mining emissions, energy consumption<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Data from other groups seemed to support the conclusions of U.S. lawmakers. A 2020 report from Digitalundivided <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/chicago.suntimes.com\/business\/2020\/12\/8\/22160178\/black-women-latina-entrepreneurs-venture-capital-inequities-projectdiane-digitalundivided-maillian\">showed<\/a> Black women and Latina entrepreneurs received less than 1% of venture capital investments, and Crunchbase <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/about.crunchbase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Funding-To-Female-Founders_Report.pdf\">reported<\/a> that 0.9% of female company founders in fintech raised venture capital funds.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy default, Web3 is very much dominated by men, and we do not see many female-focused brands getting into the space right now,\u201d said Jenny Guo, co-founder of metaverse platform Highstreet. \u201cBut, similar to the tech industry, more and more women creatives will join the industry with time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><template data-name=\"subscription_form\" data-type=\"law_decoded\"><\/template><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
