This includes using the in-built microphone to not only take calls but also record voice memos, right on your wrist.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Using_the_Voice_Memos_App\"><\/span>Using the Voice Memos App<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can take a quick sound recording using the Voice Memos app that\u2019s pre-installed on your Apple Watch. This requires the counterpart iPhone Voice Memos app. If you can\u2019t find it, there\u2019s a good chance that you\u2019ve deleted it so <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/voice-memos\/id1069512134?at=1010l392g&amp;ct=htg817952\">download it again<\/a> from the App Store (for free) and add it to your Apple Watch.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll then find the Voice Memos app in the main menu, accessible by pressing the Digital Crown. You could add the app to your Apple Watch dock\u00a0or as a Complication on a Watch face for even quicker access. Open the Voice Memos app on your iPhone and you should see the recording there waiting for you. Recordings will be in M4A format and are remarkably small considering how passable the quality is (around 1MB for a one-minute clip).<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"All_Sorts_of_Uses\"><\/span>All Sorts of Uses<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Apple Watch is useful for taking recordings anywhere you get a thought that you can\u2019t be bothered to type out or jot down. You can embed these files into notes or documents, or transcribe them later.<\/p>\n<p>This functionality is also useful for recording conversations, meetings, or other interactions. Just be aware of any privacy laws in your country before you start recording people without their knowledge!<\/p>\n<p>You can record surprisingly usable audio with an Apple Watch, which may be useful in small video projects. If you don\u2019t have a lavalier <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewgeek.com\/47538\/6-excellent-usb-microphones-small-enough-to-toss-in-your-laptop-bag\/\">mic<\/a> that you can attach to the speaker, it\u2019s relatively easy to sync the M4A audio with a video you\u2019ve shot on your iPhone using a free app like iMovie.
