A source specifically revealed to <em>Page Six<\/em> that since they are at different stages in life, a relationship became too hard for the<em> Keeping Up With the Kardashian<\/em> alum to maintain a relationship with Pete. The insider explained that she was \u201ctotally exhausted by this relationship and other things going on in her life,\u201d adding:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cPete is 28 and Kim is 41 \u2014 they are just in very different places at the moment. Pete is totally spontaneous and impulsive and wants her to fly to New York, or wherever he is on a moment\u2019s notice. But Kim has four kids and it isn\u2019t that easy. A source speaking to <em>Entertainment Tonight<\/em> on Saturday claimed that Kim felt \u201cthe spark between\u201d them had actually \u201cfaded.\u201d And while the <strong>SKIMS<\/strong> creator thinks Pete is \u201cso sweet,\u201d the confidant said \u201cshe didn\u2019t feel ready for something serious with him,\u201d explaining:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThey had tons of chemistry, and still do, but she kind of wants to be single and date. Kim still adores Pete and will always be friends with him. She still thinks he\u2019s the nicest and sweetest guy in the world and there\u2019s no drama or anything weird between them now.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Furthermore, the insider noted that Kim thought this would be only a \u201cfun\u201d romance between her and the<em> Saturday Night Live<\/em> alum after filing for divorce from <strong>Kanye West<\/strong> \u2013 but it soon moved way too fast for her:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cShe felt like Pete was the extreme opposite of Kanye and it was good for her then. She initially thought it would be a fun fling, but then it got more serious when they were spending so much time together. Kim wasn\u2019t feeling like she was willing to settle down with him just yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Well, this certainly tracks! As you may recall, Kimmy Kakes previously shared that she was the one who made the first move on Pete after she hosted <em>SNL<\/em> in October 2021 because she was \u201cbasically DTF.\u201d She recounted on an episode of <em>The Kardashians<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhen we kissed in-scene, it was just a vibe. And I was like, \u2018Oh s**t, maybe I just need to try something different.\u2019 I wasn\u2019t even thinking like, \u2018Oh my god, I\u2019m going to be in a relationship with him.\u2019 I was just thinking like, \u2018Heard about this BDE, need to get out there.\u2019\u2026I was just basically DTF.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Then, the pair were suddenly all over her feed on <strong>Instagram<\/strong>, and her name was branded on Pete\u2019s chest (along with several other tattoos in her honor).
