Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cGrease\u201d actress and singer publicly battled breast cancer since 1992, enduring a partial mastectomy, nine months of chemotherapy and breast reconstruction.<\/p>\n<p>Newton-John \u2014 who became an advocate for breast cancer detection \u2014 was diagnosed again in 2013 but privately battled it, only revealing in 2018 that it had come back in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The Australian actress announced she had been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer that had metastasized to the base of her spine.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cPhysical\u201d singer opened up over the years about how she dealt with the treatments and managed her pain, including openly talking about using cannabis oil after being introduced to it by her husband, John rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rJtPgpedcFo\">told \u201c60 Minutes Australia\u201d<\/a> in 2019. \u201cIf I don\u2019t take the drops, I can feel the pain, so I know it\u2019s working.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople have this vision from the \u201960s of people just sitting around and getting stoned,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/health\/olivia-newton-john-t116535\">she told \u201cToday\u201d in 2017<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s not about that. This plant is a healing plant. I think we need to change the vision of what it is because it helped me greatly and it helps with pain and inflammation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Newton-John said she started using cannabis after she fractured her sacrum\u00a0in September 2018, resulting in her learning to walk again and being in excruciating pain. She raised money for the center by auctioning memorabilia from \u201cGrease\u201d \u2014 <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2019\/11\/03\/olivia-newton-johns-iconic-grease-outfit-sells-for-405k-at-auction\/\">including the famous leather outfit she wore in the film<\/a>, an item that sold for $405,000.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>Newton-John and her husband <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.herbalgram.org\/resources\/herbalegram\/volumes\/volume-18\/issue-4-april-2021\/news-and-features\/olivia-newton-john-foundation\/\">founded the<\/a> Newton-John Foundation in 2020 to fund research into the ways cannabis and other botanicals could help people.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201970s pop icon credits beating cancer for the first time through not only chemotherapy but also working on her\u00a0overall holistic <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roach to wellness \u2014 which her treatment center offers \u2014 as well as positive thinking.<\/p>\n<p>After her cancer came back a third time, the actress said she told doctors she didn\u2019t want to know how much time she had to live.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you\u2019re given a cancer diagnosis or a scary honest diagnosis, you\u2019re suddenly given a possibility of a time limit,\u201d she explained to \u201c60 Minutes Australia.\u201d \u201cIf somebody tells you, \u2018You have six months to live,\u2019 very possibly you will because you believe that.
