Your daily dose of DC Comics and DC Universe news<\/a> is coming to an end.\u00a0DC Daily<\/strong><\/em>, <\/em>the daily news program that kept DC Universe subscribers abreast of DC news and content, has been canceled by the streaming service. Its final batch of episodes will air on DC Universe over the next few weeks.<\/p>\n

Collider broke the news that\u00a0DC Daily<\/em> has been canceled by DC Universe, two years after it premiered on the streaming service. The daily news program, which has been hosted by a variety of celebrity geeks over the years, including\u00a0Hector Navarro, John Barrowman,\u00a0Tiffany Smith\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Harley Quinn Smith<\/strong>, covered DC Comics news and the slew of original titles that debuted on the DC Universe service. The final batch of episodes will air on DC Universe over the next few weeks, ending on July 3.<\/strong><\/p>\n

DC Daily<\/em> premiered in September 2018, on launch day of DC Universe. It\u2019s been one of the mainstays of the DC Universe streaming service, delivering news, interviews, and in-depth panel discussions about DC movies<\/a> and TV shows to DC fans subscribed to the service. Guests on the show over the years included\u00a0Hector Navarro,<\/strong>\u00a0Clarke Wolfe,<\/strong>\u00a0Samm Levine,<\/strong>\u00a0Sam Humphries<\/strong>,\u00a0Whitney Moore,<\/strong>\u00a0Amy Dallen<\/strong>. The show was hosted by\u00a0Tiffany Smith<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Harley Quinn Smith,<\/strong> with\u00a0contributors such as\u00a0Brian Tong<\/strong>,\u00a0Markeia McCarty<\/strong>,\u00a0John Kourounis\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0John Barrowman<\/strong> frequently joining them on camera.<\/p>\n

A DC spokesperson provided a statement about the cancelation to Collider below:<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter more than 400 episodes,\u00a0DC Daily<\/em>\u00a0will air its final broadcast on Friday, July 3. This year has brought more challenges than the show could overcome. We thank all the fans and talent and hosts for bringing this show to life. It\u2019s been a fun ride.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Although\u00a0DC Daily<\/em> was the cheapest show to produce for DC Universe, Collider reports that the coronavirus pandemic ultimately killed the news program, which could not navigate around the social<\/a>ly distanced production challenges.<\/p>\n

But with WarnerMedia launching the anticipated HBO Max streaming service recently, it does make one wonder what the fate of DC Universe will be, especially with beloved DC movies making their way to HBO Max. Could the\u00a0DC Daily<\/em> cancelation signal the beginning of the end of DC Universe? Probably not something so dramatic, as\u00a0DC Universe original titles are still going strong, with\u00a0Stargirl<\/em> currently airing and new seasons of\u00a0Titans<\/em> and\u00a0Young Justice<\/em> down the pipeline.\u00a0Doom Patrol<\/em> season 2 is also set to premiere on June 25 while the\u00a0Harley Quinn<\/em> animated series continues to garner online buzz.<\/p>\n
