The series also ranks as one of the top two most-watched original series on Paramount+ in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Star Trek<\/em> fans all over the world embraced this incredible new <em>Star Trek<\/em> journey,\u201d said Tanya Giles, chief programming officer of Paramount Streaming in a statement. \u201cWe are thrilled that the <em>Star Trek<\/em> universe continues to be one of the most-watched franchises on the service.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Added George Cheeks, president and chief executive officer at CBS, \u201cOver the past six years, Alex Kurtzman and his amazing team have brilliantly created and carefully curated a new <em>Star Trek<\/em> universe for Paramount+ with five complementary series \u2014 each different in tone, style, story and in some cases target audience. Each series is a success in its own right, and now the franchise\u2019s newest edition, <em>Strange New Worlds<\/em>, is earning critical acclaim and delivering notable performance achievements on the service, both domestically and internationally. We look forward to the franchise\u2019s continuing journey on Paramount+ here in the U.S. and globally, where in the case of <em>Strange New Worlds<\/em>, we\u2019re just getting started.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Star Trek: Strange New Worlds<\/em> is based on the years Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) manned the helm of the <em>U.S.S. Enterprise<\/em>, in the years before Captain Kirk (Paul Wesley, who guest starred in the Season 1 finale and will be part of the cast for Season 2) boarded the starship. Mount, along with Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck, who play Una and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Science<\/a> Officer Spock respectively, was introduced in <em>Star Trek: Discovery<\/em> Season 2. They are joined by Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La\u2019an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, and Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M\u2019Benga on <em>Strange New Worlds<\/em>. Bruce Horak recurred as Hemmer in Season 1.<\/p>\n<p>The series premiere was written by Akiva Goldsman, with the story by Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman, and Jenny Lumet. Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers serve as co-showrunners, with Goldsman directing the premiere episode. Goldsman, Kurtzman and Lumet executive produce with Alonso Myers, Heather Kadin, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, and Aaron Baiers. The series is produced by CBS Studios, Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p><em>Strange New Worlds<\/em> will be returning for a second season that needs to resolve the Una cliffhanger of the finale.
