\n An Australian sex worker reported missing last year has turned up 1,500 miles away with shorn hair \u2014 as cops busted her over the death of a married businessman.<\/p>\n

Madeleine Lewin, 32, went missing in New South Wales in July last year, with police releasing photos along with local media<\/a> app<\/a>eals for the woman with \u201cshoulder-length brown hair.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, she has emerged 1,500 miles away in Cairns when she was arrested Sunday and charged with manslaughter, according to The Australian \u2014 with her mugshot showing her looking radically different with close-cropped hair.<\/p>\n

Lewin\u2019s name emerged after police made appeals for the woman last seen with businessman Anthony Brady, 52, after he was found dead in a hotel room in the Queensland city Friday, according to police and local reports.<\/p>\n

Brady \u2014 described by a relative as a \u201cloyal and loving husband and a man who loved his job\u201d \u2014 flew to Cairns last Monday for work, The Australian said. The alarm was raised when he failed to get on his scheduled flight home Thursday.<\/p>\n

His body was discovered Friday in the Sunshine Tower Hotel \u2014 not the one he had been staying at \u2014 and cops said he had been dead at least 24 hours, according to the report.<\/p>\n

Lewin\u2019s first court hearing was told Monday that the sex worker was on parole at the time of the death, the Cairns Post said. No other details were given on what crime it was connected to or where it happened.<\/p>\n

It was not immediately clear if she was still deemed a missing person at the time of her arrest.<\/p>\n

Detective Inspector Jason Smith refused to go into details about the businessman\u2019s death, saying it would be \u201cinappropriate\u201d now Lewin is charged.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are keeping the family of the deceased updated about the progress of the investigation and we will keep talking to them as it progresses further through the courts,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m satisfied that the charge of manslaughter is appropriate.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
