| E162\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mgEs61k2mxY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cFor collaborative, creative work \u2014 of the sort I do now [at Pushkin] \u2014 it\u2019s really a question of what the goal of your work is, at any moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gladwell ignited a firestorm of criticism on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> after his recent comments about working from home went viral. He hit out at remote workers, saying that they are \u201csocially disconnected from their organization.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not in your best interest to work from home,\u201d Gladwell told Steven Bartlett, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/gb\/podcast\/e162-malcolm-gladwell-working-from-home-is-destroying-us\/id1291423644?i=1000570664675\">the host of the \u201cDiary of a CEO\u201d podcast.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re just sitting in your pajamas in your bedroom, is that the work life you want to live? \u2026What have you reduced your life to?\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Gladwell said he was frustrated at his largely futile efforts to get employees at his company back into the office. Pushkin Industries operates out of two locations \u2014 one in New York and the other in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>But critics on social media posted screenshots of Gladwell\u2019s essays from more than a decade ago in several publications in which he writes of his experiences of working from cafes in New York, Toronto, Zurich, and London.<\/p>\n<p>In 2005, Gladwell told The Guardian that he wrote his bestseller \u201cBlink\u201d while gallivanting around New York, Rome and London.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI refer to my writing as \u2018rotating\u2019,\u201d\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/money\/2005\/mar\/05\/workandcareers.politicsphilosophyandsociety\">Gladwell told The Guardian.<\/a> \u201cI always say \u2018I\u2019m going to rotate\u2019 because I have a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of spots that I rotate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Los Angeles Times culture columnist Mary McNamara didn\u2019t <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>reciate Gladwell\u2019s comments, writing: \u201cI\u2019m working in my jammies and I\u2019m just fine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Twitter users were more scathing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo s\u2013t Malcolm Gladwell thinks I\u2019m not good at working from home yet,\u201d quipped Ginny Hogan. \u201cI\u2019ve only been doing it for 8792 hours.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hogan\u2019s tweet referenced the \u201c10,000 hour rule,\u201d which Gladwell describes in his book \u201cOutliers.\u201d According to Gladwell, attaining mastery at any skill requires a minimum of 10,000 hours of intense practice.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
