On <i>BLK VINTAGE<\/i>, he does this by reflecting on how violence persists through alcoholism, paranoia, and memory. His music can sound like a patchwork quilt made out of decades of funk and soul, as if he\u2019s unconsciously referencing his parent\u2019s CD booklet. <\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            On \u201cGHOST RIDE,\u201d Elcock\u2019s weary voice curls and bends as he sings about ignoring warnings from his grandmother, allowing the slow-burning jam to muddle the chorus into a stew of sounds. \u201cBut why is it so that the world doesn\u2019t know\/That all my brothers drowning slow,\u201d he asks at the end of his verse, ending a stressful build. But it\u2019s Mereba\u2019s angelic voice, caught in-between the smoky horns and gentle boom-clack, that clears the gray skies hanging over this song. \u201cMove too fast? Well, that depends\/Grandmommy, please understand,\u201d she raps with a slippery flow.
