Since the fatal shooting, Alec has consistently denied ever pulling the trigger on the gun, which was somehow loaded with live ammunition. When <strong>George Stephanopoulos<\/strong> asked during an interview with <em>ABC <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a><\/em> if the <em>30 Rock<\/em> alum to pull the trigger, he insisted it never h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened. He claimed he simply pulled back the <strong>Colt 45<\/strong> revolver\u2019s hammer and posed it toward the camera while Halyna directed him and the weapon suddenly fired when he release the hammer:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe trigger wasn\u2019t pulled. I didn\u2019t pull the trigger. I would never point a gun at someone and pull the trigger on them, never.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Related: Hilaria Baldwin Claims \u2018Enemies\u2019 Are Trying To \u2018Destroy\u2019 Her Husband Alec<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Body camera footage released by the<strong> Santa Fe County Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/strong> even showed him telling cops that he did not touch the trigger nor knew the weapon had live rounds inside:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI take the gun out and as the barrel clears, I turn and cock the gun and the gun goes off.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Basically, Alec claims the gun spontaneously went off on that tragic day. But a new report from the <strong>FBI<\/strong> says that would not have been possible! According to the forensic analysis report obtained by <em>ABC News<\/em> on Friday, the feds found that the .45 Colt caliber F.lli Pietta used in the fatal shooting could not have been fired without someone pulling the trigger based on the results from an accidental discharge testing.<\/p>\n<p>The report states that the gun \u201ccould not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger\u201d with the hammer in quarter and half-cock positions. With the hammer fully cocked, the firearm \u201ccould not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger while the working internal components were intact and functional.\u201d Essentially, when the gun is working properly, it will not release a bullet and primer at the same time just by messing with the hammer at various positions alone.<\/p>\n<p>The only way it could detonate a primer \u201cwithout a pull of the trigger\u201d is when it\u2019s de-cocked and then \u201cstruck directly\u201d \u2013 something the report noted is normal for the type of revolver. This means it could have set off an actual gunshot sound without discharging any bullets. Of course, that did not happen in the case of the <em>Rust<\/em> tragedy.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this bombshell report, it does not mean Alec is in trouble yet since it is unknown whether the FBI used the same gun from the shooting for the test or if the weapon used that day malfunctioned. It is also still unknown how the live bullets ended up in the gun in the first place.<\/p>\n<p>The findings and other documents regarding the incident have been sent to the Santa Fe County Sheriff\u2019s Office. They are currently waiting on the phone records from Alec for review. Once everything is in, the evidence will go to the District Attorney, who will determine if any criminal charges will be filed.
