If your laptop is stolen or lost, it could also land you in an awful spot.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lock yours with a robust and unique password. That means no repeats! Since you need to enter this password each time you open your computer, it needs to be something you can remember.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If your computer allows you to unlock it with\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/tech\/topics\/innovation\">biometrics, like your fingerprint<\/a>, that\u2019s an even easier solution.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Otherwise, use these same password guidelines for any online accounts:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Use a combination of letters, special characters, numbers and capital letters.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Aim for at least 12 characters.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Consider creating a passphrase instead of a password. These are longer, harder to crack, and easier to remember.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"To_lock_your_Windows_PC\"><\/span><strong>To lock your Windows PC:<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Go to\u00a0<strong>Start\u00a0<\/strong>&gt;\u00a0<strong>Settings\u00a0<\/strong>&gt;\u00a0<strong>Accounts<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Click\u00a0<strong>Sign-in options\u00a0<\/strong>from the left pane.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Click\u00a0<strong>Add<\/strong>\u00a0under the Password section.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Enter a new password.
