The fund was held in a community-managed multi-signature wallet with five peer-elected members validating transactions who were selected because of their contributions to the project. <\/p>\n<p>However, as interacting with Tornado Cash started to come with more risks, with penalties ranging from an up to $10 million fine to up to 30 years in prison for U.S. citizens, the community members in charge of the community fund <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/gnosis-safe.io\/app\/eth:0xb04E030140b30C27bcdfaafFFA98C57d80eDa7B4\/transactions\/history\">vacated<\/a> their posts to give up control of the fund to the project\u2019s decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). <\/p>\n<p>Starting on August 12, the signatories <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/gnosis-safe.io\/app\/eth:0xb04E030140b30C27bcdfaafFFA98C57d80eDa7B4\/transactions\/multisig_0xb04E030140b30C27bcdfaafFFA98C57d80eDa7B4_0x2f775ce76e062af2af7864f54ed53eff10267989e6b665372476384a9622e209\">started<\/a> to relinquish their ability to manage the fund. According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> user, unless something changes, everything tied to the project can be <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NFTyPrometheus\/status\/1558855645041942529\">considered<\/a> a collaborator. On the other hand, another community member <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/0xwoid\/status\/1558854020495720451\">opined<\/a> that this may be a way to fully actualize the DAO and argued that it&#8217;s time for token holders to assume responsibility. <\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Kevin O\u2019Leary says sacrificing Tornado Cash worth it for institutional adoption<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, as worries surrounding Tornado Cash pile on, an anonymous user decided to use this opportunity to send sanctioned ETH to prominent personalities like Jimmy Fallon, Shaquille O&#8217;Neal, Dave Ch<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>elle and many other artists. The transactions seem to show that the sender is trying to prank law enforcement, directing their attention to the recipients.
