Two platforms, Crypto.com and the Canadian platform Coinsquare Capital Markets, have already filed those undertakings.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Trading platforms will be expected to agree in the undertaking to comply with terms and conditions relating to investor protection. Filing the undertaking will allow crypto trading platforms to continue operating during the review of their <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lications for registration with the CSA. The new undertaking is part of the \u201cinterim approach\u201d introduced in the guidance on securities law requirements for crypto asset trading platforms <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iiroc.ca\/news-and-publications\/notices-and-guidance\/joint-csaiiroc-staff-notice-21-329-guidance-crypto-asset-trading-platforms-compliance-regulatory\">released<\/a> in March 2021 by the CSA and Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC). <\/p>\n<p>Crypto.com and Coinsquare Capital Markets filed undertakings with the Ontario Securities Commission, which is their principal regulator. The CSA said in its announcement that it was in discussion with other platforms about the undertaking.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: Canadian regulators warn against &#8216;gambling style&#8217; advertising and marketing in guidelines for crypto companies<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Crypto trading platforms in Canada face lengthy waits for registration. They can obtain \u201crestricted dealer\u201d status before receiving full registration. Platforms that have applied to be restricted dealers still need to file the newly instituted undertaking. <\/p>\n<p>Crypto.com <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/crypto.com\/company-news\/the-ontario-securities-commission-osc-grants-crypto-com-pre-registration-undertaking-for-operations-in-canada?utm_source=twtr&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=aug15_canada_twtr\">pointed out<\/a> in a statement that it is already regulated in Canada by the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) and the Autorit\u00e9 des march\u00e9s financiers (AMF) of Quebec.
